1. Bring the shoe you’re going to wear, or a shoe with a similar heel height to try on when you go shopping for that perfect dress.

2. Bring any foundations you may need, i.e. strapless bra, smoothing garments, etc.

3. If you’re petite look for petite gowns to minimize alterations

4. Factor in alteration fees if needed and consider having the dress altered if it doesn’t fit you perfectly off the rack.

This hunter green jacket is pretty and warm. I fell in love with it for many reasons but mostly because it features a thermal fabric that helps retain body heat. I also love the cool interior back straps because when you’re indoors you can wear it like a backpack ❤️ It’s at Zara.

Sherpa jackets are a huge trend. I found this one at Old Navy. I’m crushing on the cream color and the biker style is fun too.

This cozy animal print jacket from Express is right on trend with no signs of slowing down.

Her fabulous boots are Dr. Martens. They feature a two inch heel with a one and a half inch platform.

If you love plaid you’re not alone, its been a fashion favorite for as long as I can remember. This plaid coat from Old Navy stands out with its modern inverted collar.

Her cute faux patent combat boots are from DSW.

If you’re interested in a good down coat check out this one from Fjall Raven. It’s flattering on plus it’s wind and water resistant.

Her boots are from LL Bean. They’re comprised of waterproof leather and Primaloft insulation to help keep your feet warm and dry.

This light weight puffer jacket might look like a vest, however it has knit sleeves for added comfort and warmth. It’s a great choice for mild weather days. You’ll find it at the Buckle.

The sleek looking black boots are designed by Bullboxer. They have a cushion collar and insole and can be found at the Buckle.

This jacket is prized for giving warmth without the weight. It’s a top seller at LL Bean. It’s water and wind resistant, stretches plus it packs into its own pocket.

His hiking boots are from Fjall Raven. I love the red laces but they’re beautifully made with Gortex leather and a rubber outsole that helps absorb impact.

Guys are rocking the Pantone color of the year too. You’ll find this sports coat and shirt at Hammermade. I suggest adding a pop of color with blue. My favorite color choices are: magenta, orange, yellow and green.

The Blue turtleneck and plaid pants are available at Banana Republic. (The pants are also available in petites.) Style Tip: blue looks great with white.

Consider infusing the classic blue color into your outfit with key accessories, like this headband from Express or the cross body bag from DSW or these custom handmade engagement rings in Sydney.
