Do You Have These Colors In Your Wardrobe?

If you have soft pink and baby blue items in your closet it’s time to bring them forward. Pantone has deemed the 2016 colors of the year; rose quartz and serenity.. Generally there’s only one color each season, however Pantone chose to blend these two colors together to coincide with societal movements towards gender equality and fluidity. You can read more about it here.

So why do we care? Wearing the season’s “it” color(s) sends a non-verbal message of being a style star. Chances are you’re a style star anyway, but wearing Pantone’s color of the year (together or separately) puts you in the fashion spotlight. Look for it on celebrities, in home decor, and of course fashion magazines.

If so, this is your season. You’ll be able to find them everywhere from Nordstrom to H & M.

I fell in love with the color of this hat from Forever21. I wore it to the Flowers x Fashion event presented by Free People at Mall of America.

Remember, accessories are a great way to update your wardrobe. Enjoy!

Did You Have A Favorite Emmy 2015 Outfit?

The stars were out in full force for the Emmys this year with temperatures on the red carpet reaching 105+ degrees. While I enjoyed the emotional and heart felt acceptance speeches I loved checking out the fashion choices. Sarah Hyland’s Zac Posen dress was one of my favorites. Taylor Schillings neckline was interesting and different. Taraji P. Henson’s Alexander Wang dress and Claire Daine’s Prada dress both featured chain detail. Green was a popular color and strapless gowns were also prevelant. Check them out here.

MINNESOTA’S NEXT TOP MODEL?

ARE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW INTERESTED IN GETTING INTO THE MODELING INDUSTRY

I have received numerous inquiries requesting information on how to get into modeling. Here is what I recommend:

A. Look up local modeling agencies in the telephone directory or search for them online.

B. If the agency lists their phone number I suggest giving them a call so you can find out if they have any specific guidelines for individuals pursuing modeling. (Some agents provide a pre-recorded message intended especially for aspiring models.)

C. If the agency lists it address I would send them a photograph – one that shows how fabulous you are. The photo you submit does not need to come from a professional photographer. (Quite frankly at this stage you might even use a photo taken with a smartphone.) Tip #1: If you wear makeup – a clean, natural look is recommended. Tip #2: Kids grow and timing can be everything, so if the aspiring model is a child consider updating and re-submitting a photo to the agency every six-months. Tip #3: Consider wearing colors that are attractive looking on you and that will make you stand out. Tip #4: Teens and Adults should consider sending both a headshot along with a full-length body shot.

On the back of the photo you will need to include this information:

  1. Name
  2. Birthdate
  3. Hair Color
  4. Eye Color
  5. Height
  6. Weight
  7. Clothing Size
  8. Shoe Size
  9. Parents Name (if under age)
  10. Email
  11. Home Phone
  12. Mobile Phone

D. If you do not hear back from the agency it most likely means you are not a fit for them at this time. You might consider re-submitting a new photo in a year or so to see if anything has changed.

E. By the way, I do not hire models for anything I do at this time, however if that ever changes I will update my post.

F. I have a background in training models. For more information about the services I offer please visit my website http://sararogers.com/model-prep/
