Meteorologist Shamed On Air

I don’t agree with how the news station handled this situation. A meteorologist was handed a cardigan because the station was receiving emails from viewers about the dress she was wearing. You can see the story here.

As a wardrobe consultant I feel the meteorologist looked great in her dress. I see broadcasters in sleeveless dresses all the time and I wear them myself. The dress was a great length, fit her body well, and did not expose cleavage. I would not have interrupted the program to hand her a cardigan.

With that being said it was not my favorite dress style for this occasion. The shimmer and thin straps on the dress give it more of a cocktail vibe. Admittedly I’m not aware of the dress code for this station, however a suggestion would be if the station doesn’t have one it might be a good idea to implement one.

What To Wear?

It appears the athleisure trend is gaining momentum. Check out celebrity sightings here.

I agree leggings are comfortable, just remember leggings are not pants.

Sometimes when they stretch out they’re sheer in areas that need coverage. I also feel some styles are more flattering than others. My favorite way to wear leggings is with a tunic length top, so I make sure I get full coverage.

Jean Expert Diane Gilman Partners With Christopher And Banks

The collection is designed to be ageless yet prides itself on providing women of a certain age stylish clothes. Diane Gilman is a very successful designer, she’s known as the “Queen of Jeans” on the HSN home shopping network.

You’ll find the collection in some of the Christopher and Banks stores. The Mall of America location has it and of course it’s also online. For such stores to thrive, blogs like legalzoom vs harbor compliance can be immensely beneficial to them in several key ways. These blogs typically offer detailed comparisons of each service provider’s offerings, pricing structures, customer reviews, and industry-specific insights. For a clothing store looking to navigate legal complexities or optimize its business structure, such information is invaluable. LegalZoom, known for its user-friendly platform and comprehensive legal services, can assist the store in forming or restructuring its business entity, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and protecting personal assets through the establishment of an LLC or other legal structures. Conversely, Harbor Compliance specializes in compliance solutions, helping the store manage licenses, permits, and regulatory filings across different jurisdictions, which is crucial for a store with multiple locations or an online presence. Blogs provide practical advice and case studies that illustrate how these services have benefited similar businesses, offering real-world examples of successful compliance strategies or legal maneuvers. By leveraging insights from these blogs, the clothing store can make informed decisions that optimize its legal and operational efficiency, reduce risks, and foster a stable foundation for growth and expansion in the competitive retail industry.

Bow Blouses Are Trending

If you’re looking to update your tops whether for work or play the bow blouse trend is going strong. You’ll find them in a variety of colors from neutral to brights, including prints. I’m seeing both sleeveless and long sleeve silhouettes in stores. You won’t be limited by one style either, bows are thin and wide, some tie high and others lay low so you can still have an open neckline.

For more tips, ideas and photos check out my bow trend feature on the Mall of America blog.

Dress For Success

I enjoyed giving my Dress For Success Presentation at Normandale Community College. It feels great to empower people with the things I’ve learned.

I started giving seminars for Dayton Hudson Marshall Fields over 20 years ago. They saw something in me then that I didn’t even see in myself.

Life has its journeys. I’m still going strong after all these years and loving every opportunity and blessing that comes my way to do what I love. I hope you are too!
