Meteorologist Shamed On Air

I don’t agree with how the news station handled this situation. A meteorologist was handed a cardigan because the station was receiving emails from viewers about the dress she was wearing. You can see the story here.

As a wardrobe consultant I feel the meteorologist looked great in her dress. I see broadcasters in sleeveless dresses all the time and I wear them myself. The dress was a great length, fit her body well, and did not expose cleavage. I would not have interrupted the program to hand her a cardigan.

With that being said it was not my favorite dress style for this occasion. The shimmer and thin straps on the dress give it more of a cocktail vibe. Admittedly I’m not aware of the dress code for this station, however a suggestion would be if the station doesn’t have one it might be a good idea to implement one.

Sara you know fashion and I agree the station should post what they want the dress code to be. I like hearing your opinion, you model and give advice excellent suggestion. I’ve seen your commercials your the best!

I agree. In my mind I’m thinking, it’s obvious that it’s not a suitable daytime , on air dress…how does she not see that? Then I think about Target Corp. when they went to a casual dress code I cringed daily. The guys wearing suits were now wearing dedazzled denim with thick white stitching…that’s when I realized, wow, people are clueless. Thank goodness for Style Consultants. I work on set daily and the dress code is very very casual, I still show up accessorized and styled. I can’t bring myself to wear yoga pants and sneakers to work.
